CBAM compliance
Cement, steel and aluminium exported to the EU fall under CBAM: without verified embedded-emissions data the importer applies conservative, more expensive default values, and certificate obligations phase in from 2027.
EPD as market entry
Environmental Product Declarations built on ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 are now a routine tender requirement and are recognized by LEED and BREEAM.
Embodied carbon caps
Whole-life-carbon rules such as France's RE2020 keep lowering thresholds and require modelling the building LCA from certified product data; without competitive figures, a material gets designed out.
